Two numbers decide what a campaign costs: the rate you set per 1M views, and the budget you are willing to spend in total. Everything else follows from those.
The useful thing about paying per view is that the downside is bounded. You are not buying a post and hoping. You are buying views at a price you set, up to a ceiling you set.
The rate
Rates are quoted per 1M views, which is how this market talks. You choose the rate, subject to a floor per campaign type.
- Music: from $500 per 1M views.
- Content: from $500 per 1M views.
- Logo: from $250 per 1M views.
The budget
The minimum budget is $1,000, across all three types.
The budget is a ceiling rather than a commitment. It comes down as verified views arrive and it cannot be overspent. Whatever the campaign does not spend is not spent, and unspent budget is returned.
Rate and budget together set the most a campaign can ever deliver. At $1,000 per 1M, a $5,000 budget buys at most 5M views. Setting a higher rate buys fewer views from the same budget, and attracts editors faster. That trade is the actual decision.
The fee, and where it sits
Our fee is 20%, and it is charged on top of the campaign budget rather than taken out of it. This is the number most people read the wrong way round, so it is worth being explicit.
A $1,000 budget is invoiced as $1,200. Editors draw against the full $1,000.
A $5,000 budget is invoiced as $6,000. Editors draw against the full $5,000.
The fee is fixed to your campaign when it is approved, so a later change to our pricing does not re-price a campaign you have already agreed.
Controlling what you pay for
Beyond the rate and the budget, a campaign can set limits on what any single edit or account can take out of it. All of them are optional and all of them are printed on the brief.
- A cap on what any one post can earn, so a single viral edit cannot take the whole budget.
- A cap on what any one account can earn across the campaign.
- A minimum view count before an edit earns at all, which keeps the long tail of tiny posts out of the ledger.
- A minimum engagement rate.
- A follower floor, if you want the campaign to run on established accounts.
- A cap on how many edits one account may submit.
What you are actually charged for
Views, read from TikTok's own API over a read-only connection the editor authorised, rather than reported to us by the editor. There is no screenshot in this process and nothing to take on trust.
At the end of the campaign a person reads every edit against your brief. Anything that broke it earns nothing and you are not charged for it.
The two together are the answer to the question every buyer asks, which is what stops you paying for junk. One half is that the numbers are not self reported. The other is that a person checks the work against what you asked for before any money moves.
What it does not cost
There is no monthly fee, no minimum term and no charge for building a campaign. You build one yourself, we review it, and it goes live once the budget is paid.
If you build a campaign and decide against it, you have spent nothing.
